Fava`s Restaurant in Georgetown

Website said that there dining room was open. Door was unlocked and the hours sign said open until 8pm. Walked in and after going to the back pick up window and yelling 3x finally had someone come out (without a mask on) and tell us they were closed, couldn't we tell because the lights were out (just to say, you couldn't tell that the lights were out). RUDE! Update your Website and lock the doors!

As always a top quality restaurant. The food is amazing the wait staff is kind and facilities are clean. The only downside of this restaurant is its location and the size of the interior, but as an establishment people would probably be more upset if they moved and expanded. So as a staple of Georgetown, I think everything is perfect. Get the tiger burger.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the operators of Whispering Hills RV park.Very happy with their suggestion! Fava's is located in downtown Georgetown. Service was outstanding! Food was delicious with generous portions! However, their homemade pies were friggin awesome!! We had chocolate cream and coconut cream pies for dessert.We had their catfish sandwich and Ruben. Both were amazing! This location was clean inside and out.We're here for a week and you rest assured that we will be back a couple more times before we leave!If you haven't been to Fava's then do yourself a huge favor and stop by. You'll be happy you did!

Maybe if the servers spent more time helping the customers instead of making fun of them this place would be better. Since the owner past this place has gone downhill. To be located right downtown you would think the owners would be on top of what's going on. It took 18 min to get our drinks the bar guy actually told our server twice we were ready she was on her phone. He asked what we wanted I told him. He told her and finally he actually got them. It was not that busy either. We ordered appetizers cause it took 55min to get through that. 1 refill that whole time. Cold cheese fries mild warm cheese sticks. He said careful plate is hot no it wasn't at all. Never got our ranch we ordered. Visit at your own risk maybe this was a bad night but it was our 3rd bad visit since the woman owner past.

Food was okay, not great. The catfish is their specialty, but my husband and I were not impressed. Maybe breakfast food is better. We will go back and give it a try. BTW, our waitress and service, top shelf!

First time there. Took a while to be greeted and get our order in. It was cozy but the decor didn't really make sense. There Mickey and Minnie mouse pictures on the wall ? Server was nice but not really super friendly. Prices on some stuff were reasonable but 5$ for a milkshake? I'd try again. I'm all for second chances

A perfect example of what a classic American diner should be today. The food is spectacular, from the fluffy pancakes to the fresh beef burgers. From the look, feel, and flavor, this place is a win. I would strongly recommend you sit down and try a bite.

This place was awesome. My wife had the Philly cheese steak and I ventured out and tried the Kentucky Brown. They were both great, and the Frickles were amazing. Best of all, though, was the service. Possibly the best waitress we've ever had!

Friendly service and fast (especially for the south). I had my first Kentucky Hot Brown there and thought it was good. Huge portion for the price and a salad was included. My daughter loves burgers and had a wildcat burger. She was very pleased with it. Cute, no frills, diner type atmosphere. Only downside was that there are no adult beverages available, which would have been nice.

We stumbled across this place on a Saturday road trip to nowhere in particular. We had a good, thick fried bologna sandwich and fat juicy hamburger! It sits in a cool little downtown area.

After reading several reviews of Fava's , I decided to try it. I was not impressed.First off, the menu offers very little for vegetarians. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that was nothing special.The service was lacking as well. I sat at the counter, and may as well have been invisible to the staff. I had to ask to place an order, ask for a drink refill, and ask for the dessert menu. To top it off, I had to ask for my check to pay!!! A customer should NEVER have to do this.Finally, I was disappointed that you have to pre-order pies to take home. I work on the road and wanted to bring something home for my family. The pie was so unremarkable that I can't even remember what I had ordered.I will not be eating here again.

They left the onion and mayo off my burger. It was no big deal but when I ask the waitress if I could get some she brings me a mayo pack. I didn’t have a to go order. I was dining in. When I requested mayo from the kitchen she went back and told the cook I was being rude they had a whole conversation that we could hear everything they were saying. This place needs new management. The burger was not good at all.

Everyone I know will tell you that this the place I talk about when visiting Georgetown. This decent sized diner offers a variety of American classics and is definitely worth taking a trip to. The service is awesome and the scenery makes you feel nostalgic for that classic diner feel. Definitely grab a milkshake or a piece of pie once you finish up your lunch or dinner!

This is a must stop place the Reuben sandwich was absolutely awesome The pork tenderloin had a good little zing to it from some Cajun sauce they put in it and the fries were absolutely cooked perfect in the price was it real bad either

Stopped in for dinner. Had a very nice experience! Food was delicious. Clean. And courteous waitress. Recommend you try it!

Not a very big menu. Asked for soup, no soup. Asked for salad, or of salad mix. I ended up just having a side order of hushpuppies for dinner. They were good though.

I ordered the steak omlette, no green peppers, sub tomatoes. I didn't get any sides, just the omlette. Price on menu is $9. I didn't get tomatoes, which I was charged for and it was taken off. Omlette was $10, not $9, but no one cared. I go to Favas a lot, was disappointed.

Great local place to grab a bite of great food. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Weekly lunch specials are great and fairly priced. Was eating lunch and several people stopped in to pick up a carry out order, that's always a nice option if you need to pick up food and go.

This place is a great little gem. Service was a little relaxed. Food was good, but the pie. The pie was phenomenal!! The place was cute. It is set up just like an old diner. It was established in 1910 I believe. They recommended the Kentucky; which I tried with "light" gravy. See pics for menu.

We have a bad experience here. We were very excited by the delicious menu, but the bacon cheese fries came well overdone. Honestly, we thought it looked microwaved on the plate they served it on. The only edible part of the butterscotch pie was the merengue. Then we discovered dead bugs in the spices on the table. Service up until that point was also a tad weird, which added to our decision to request the check, for what was currently on the table as we didn't want to see anymore. As it turned out the permitted us to leave without payment since we were unhappy with our experience. Sorry Fava's we just had a terrible time.

While looking back through some old vacation photos of trips to Lexington I saw a photo of Fava’s. Let me tell you, this is easily one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to. The food was excellent, the prices were cheap, the setting was so amazing. There is no better restaurant in all of Georgetown. I wish I could go back right now and get something to eat.

Went out on a date with my wife and I wanted something quick and filling. Fava’s hit the spot. No none sense place with a great menu of comfort food. Didn’t seem to have bigger tables for larger parties but comfortable enough to give my older kids their own booth. Will be coming again because I know the food will be good and so is the service.

Sadly, I don't have any pics to share but I will visit them again and take some then. As for the food, I ordered a Reuben Sandwich with steamed Broccoli and the server generously gave me some freshly fried French fries which I gobbled all up; maybe it was the combination of their good food and the fact that I was so hungry. I loved their Reuben Sandwich. It was different from what I get from elsewhere. They cooked the meat in some kind of sauce and it was DELICIOUS. It was my first time there as I just began to work in the area.I loved their interiors. It was like good old days retro style. This was a not a big restaurant but somehow they jave plenty of seats. My hubby would like to come along with me next time. I will then add more pics here. :)

Great diner style restaurant with a Sunday bar upfront. We went around noon on Sunday and there was no wait, pick your own seat. I ordered the club sandwich and wife got tuna. We both really liked it. Service, food and atmosphere were awesome.

Driving to Tennessee and wanted something different. Great food, great service only a couple of minutes off of I75! Philly steak omelet was definitely the way to go! Thank you Fava!

Took quite a long time to get our food initially, but it was good. Warning about the chicken strips. They are very delicious, but pack some heat.

Excellent food and pricing. I loved the decor. We stopped on our road trip and got some burgers. They were perfectly cooked and juicy. Kind of felt like an outsider in a small town though.

I had a tasty shrimp po'boy and fries. The dish was very generous at a small price. They serve breakfast, a variety of sandwiches, soups, and desserts. The food is good and the prices are even better. The staff was very friendly too.

Fried catfish was excellent. The staff is pleasant. Salads were very generic. The menu is very broad. You will find something. Breakfast is amazing!!

Love this place. Everytime we visit our family in Frankfort we make it a point to enjoy a awesome breakfast here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food was good. Take time to walk around and do some shopping at the local businesses you will not be disappointed.

I always get the all you can eat catfish nuggets. Best catfish I've had in Kentucky!

Cute, casual restaurant with friendly staff and good food. My kids had the chicken strips and catfish fillets which were both good. My husband and I both got the Kentucky hot brown because we like to try local favorites while we travel. It was so good and presented beautifully. We would definitely go to Fava's again if we were here longer.

Went there with my Grandma when younger so memories an the food was fresh n hot tasted as good as when I 1st had it as a young man I'm 51years younger lol

My daughter and I stopped in here for lunch and were greeted the moment we stepped through the door. Noticed through out our dining experience that everyone here seemed to know just about everyone else. Lots of people were greeted by first name as they entered.Heard a few people say, "I'll have my regular" and the staff knew exactly what that was and got to it lickety split.Food was good, we had trouble finishing everything. The burgers were large and juicy. Onion rings fantastic and their homemade chips were good as well.Had a milkshake between us and still had trouble finishing it. Fun atmosphere, small town feel that is like you've stepped back in time. This is a quaint place for a relaxed meal in a historic building with old school charm.Love that this is a family owned business that has been passed down through the generations.

Ample servings of classic breakfast foods without the greasy flavor of the chain restaurants. Everything seems to be hand made including hand cut hash browns and home fries.

Classic local diner that I frequent every week. Adored by locals and a must visit for those touring the area. The dinner fish sandwich is a top pick.

This place is like stepping back in time. It is a small town restaurant that has been open for many years. I enjoyed the lunch hot brown and a bowl of vegetable soup. Both were great. The hot brown was cheesy and flavorful. The soup was a hearty and delicious. It was well worth the money.

Amazing food and Shauna was the best! The Hot Brown lunch special was the best thing I've had in a long time. Only thing I regret is eating so much and not having room for their pie - it looked amazing. We will definitely be back.

So disappointing. Tried to support local but I asked to pickup 2 hours later and the lady on the phone seemed put off. I finally began my order and everything I asked for was problematic. They were not doing my first 2 sides, so I asked for a list. Again, she seemed put off. I then ask for 3 pancakes and she stated they were not doing breakfast either. With a 2 hour notice pancakes shouldn’t be a deal breaker but it’s the only thing on their menu one of children will eat.

Ordered through DoorDash the order was put together in a rush everything was falling apart or cold. I was so disappointed because all I’ve heard about is how great favas is but not for me and my family. We had nasty food.

Excellent food. I have visited many times and really enjoy their breaded chicken sandwich. The breakfast is also good. This establishment is run very well! Great hometown restaurant.
